New in spirit, love, and freedom

Well kids, it's next work assignment is in Farmington, New Mexico. It's located in the Northwest part of the state and nestled within the San Juan River Valley. This adorable town is within sight of the San Juan mountains in Colorado and the deserts of Arizona and Utah. It's also located within the 4 Corners, so I am only a step away from some wonderful and exciting outdoor rec activities and beautiful sights! I will be working at an acute neuro rehab facility where most of my patients are of Native American descent--so cool! This town is surrounded by a few Indian Reservations; thus allowing me to be exposed to a fascinating new culture! After a short trip home to Maine, I will be starting early May and ending my time there the last week in July.

I am also thrilled to have the opportunity to be re-connected with some of my "East coast friends." I have a good friend living in Durango, one in Flagstaff, AZ, and Santa Fe...all within short driving distances. So, off I go again...time to pull out the boxes and pack Jackie the Jetta up again...pray for safe travels next month!

  1. Glad to hear you are excited about this...I know you ultimately wanted to be in Colorado. Sounds like this is going to be a great place to be though!

Cole asked me why you didn't choose Maine...he said he likes it! :)

  2. Well, tell Cole I didn't choose Maine b/c I know I'll end up living there someday and I want to be able to tell him all the cool stories about the Southwest when he gets older... Much love from Texas and see you in April!

  3. Well maybe now that Dad is retiring we can pack our bags and head to N. Mexico....!
Bring home an Indian outfit for Cole and remember I want shot glasses from each place you travel...I think you have forgotten...!
    Happy Trails see you soon....
    Love ya
    Mom and Dad

  4. You already have a shot glass from TX, so that is why i haven't gotten u one...i'm waiting for all the exciting NEW places! don't u worry, i remember ur tradition, b/c i have the same!

  5. Congrats Kristi! I know you will do well there, they are lucky to have you. I actually looked at jobs out there coincidentally!Great people are to be found in Farmington there as well as Farmington here (although I know you are rather partial to Texas). You will be within the San Juan River Valley; and if all goes well with Colorado for me, I just may be in the San Luis Valley. Best of luck!
